1000 WAYS TO SKIN IT features two 13 year old girls dressed as Black Metal Brides lip synching to a mash-up of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Bootylicious” (by Destiny’s Child). The two tiny performers appear lost in the woods, alone with their boom-boxes. This video was shot with a Tyco toy camera. This short music video is a reprise to a well-known piece from 2000 called NEVERMIND in which the artist is lip-syncing to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

Texas Show
Director Evan Roberts’ “33 Teeth” is a narrative short about a 14 year-old boy’s fascination with his older, masculine neighbor. At seven minutes, it takes us into our central figure’s mischievous quest to determine his own masculinity. With an undertone of a rather comic twist, this piece is an homage to the aspects of becoming a man and finding what one may see as their passage into manhood. Excellently shot and directed, this short piece blends the coming of age ideal with awkward situations and a comic twist. “33 Teeth” will play as part of our Texas Show.
Doc Shorts
A personal portrait of 2 incredibly adaptive cultures, one very ancient and one still evolving, yet both are indigenous to North America. Skateboarding and Native American Culture. The Apaches portrayed in this film are White Mountain Apache Scouts of the 1880's, and they are depicted by young Skateboarders from the community of Whiteriver on the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation in Arizona. The footage spans the last 15 years of skateboarding on the Reservation, and depicts a very specific group of skateboarders that have grown up in the same culture and environment. This is an effort to portray two fluid cultures in constant motion.
